The items below may not be on the list you may have received from the Hanawalt office. While these options are optional, it would be VERY helpful to have your child have these on their first day!
-one set of headphones (Target/Walmart have them for $5-6.) Careful use ensures use for future grades.
-1-2 block erasers
-TWO additional WIDE RULE spiral notebooks (4 total)
-a 12-24 pack of pencils, instead of a 6-12 pack
-one 1-1/2 inch 3 ring binder, with pockets
To help defray the cost of those items, I've also reduced some of the other items on the master list, as I have leftovers of these items from years past. They are listed below.
-no red pens or pencils will be needed
-only one box of kleenex/tissues will be needed (not 2)
-disinfecting wipes are optional for my class...I'm estimating that I only need 10 containers for the year.

Grade-Level Supply Lists
- Some items are specific to Mr. Tutt's class and not on the school list (such as the binder)
- I'm also asking for one additional wide rule spiral notebook (3 instead of 2)
- Some amounts of certain items have been reduced from the school list (such as the kleenex, wipes and glue sticks). I collect many of the supplies, ration the out during the year, and may lave leftover items.
- Some items are redefined, such as the pocket folders with the prong inserts and checking pens, instead of red pencils.
Items that are different from the second grade class list you may have seen are listed in red. If you have made your purchases, please don't feel the need to start over, or shop again. I have some of the different items below. However if it's not any trouble, I'd appreciate your help in getting what you can!
8Second Grade Supply List
-one 24-pack of crayons (no more than 24) -2 glue sticks (I have leftover sticks from last year) -3 WIDE RULE (NOT "college" rule) spiral notebooks - for math, reading and writing work) -4 pocket folders, with prongs -1 box of plain (not fancy) pencils (12 or 24-pack) Please DON'T bring fancy or personalized pencils! (I collect all pencils from each student and distribute them throughout the school year. This makes the pencil supply last MUCH longer!) -1 pencil box -1 pair of children's scissors -1 or 2 boxes of tissues (I have leftovers from last year) -NO red checking PENS (I prefer red pens over pencils, as they last MUCH longer than red pencils and won't need to be replaced as often. For now, I have plenty of these.) -1 container of disinfectant wipes (optional) -1 pair of headphones (for computer work) -1 new OR gently-used 1-1/2"-2" (inch) 3-ring binder, with pockets (by May 2018, if possible) This is for a scrapbook that we'll begin making the last week of the school year. While binders are not needed until then, July and August is the best time of year to get them at sale prices. |
